On April 30, 2017 wheelchair-using athlete Dmitry Vasiltsov took the 3rd place in the final standing at the IV International Marathon-2017 in Kharkov. The athlete needed 2 hours 30 minutes to overcome a distance of 42 km. Difference between his result and result of winner makes up 13 minutes. According to Dmytri Vasiltsov, the distance was very hard to overcome including 12 heavy prolonged climbs and 6 kilometers of paving stone. Dmytri took the 1st place among men wheelchair-using athletes.

It should be noted that the Chairman of Shostka non-governmental organization of the disabled “Paritet-Shostka” Dmitry Vasiltsov is a permanent participant of marathons in Kiev, Kharkov, Belaya Tserkov, Energodar, and also in Russia and Poland. He overcame 25 marathons and in 2013 set a Ukrainian record, having overcome 10 marathons per year in a usual wheelchair. The athletic achievement of the wheelchair athlete is officially confirmed by Certificate of the National Register of Records of Ukraine. In 2015, he overcame a distance Shostka – Mogilev of 550 km on an invalid’s hand-bike.
